A Little Bit About Me

Chandler Rylee Bennett was born July 8, 1998 to Brian and Shelley Bennett in Plano, Texas.  From the time Chandler was in her mother’s tummy, the only time she would move was when the band at church would play.  After she was born, she was soothed by listening to the smooth sounds of Kenny G. non-stop all day.  It was no shock when Chandler became a huge fan of Barney.  At 13 months, she attended her first concert, Barney Live.   Chandler started taking dance at two and seemed to really understand the rhythm and count to the music.  At four she discovered Cheerleading.  She was drawn to the sport because of the music and the dance movements.  She cheered for 4 years and loved the dance and performance aspects of cheerleading.

The summer of 2005, while on a family vacation to Myrtle Beach, South Carolina to visit family, her uncle, Robert Napier, noticed her musical talents.  Robert plays the violin in the Alabama Theatre.  Chandler always looks forward to watching his 3 hour show as much as possible. In May of 2006, Chandler began taking voice lessons with her music teacher from school.  Chandler did her first recording with Colby Logan in June.  With vast improvements being made on a weekly basis, she decided to enter the Colgate Country Showdown in Childress, Texas on July 4, 2006.  Out of 15 contestants, Chandler placed 3rd.  On the car ride home from Childress, Chandler decided that she wanted to focus completely on her music.  She sings periodically at the Karaoke Store II in Arlington, Texas, where she has been getting a great deal of support and encouragement.  On August 12, 2006 she sang in her first opry, Rodeo City Music Hall, in Mesquite, Texas.  Also on August 12, she auditioned for Johnnie High’s Country Music Revue and was booked for September 8 after her first audition.

Chandler dreams of someday recording in Nashville, TN.  She is enamored with the rich heritage of country music and Nashville.  She hopes to vacation in Nashville in the summer of 2007.
